Where Friends Meet to Dine and Dance

The Twinkles Dance Club, Inc. is a nonprofit social club that was founded in Sussex County Delaware in 1959 to offer a safe and welcoming space for dance-minded Members and Guests. The Club has been in continuous operation since then, except for a few dances cancelled during the Covid epidemic. The mission of the Club is to promote physical and mental health for our Members and Guests through enjoyment of dancing and fellowship.

The Club is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors elected annually to plan, organize, advertise and conduct six dances per year. Operating revenue is comprised of Membership dues, dance reservation fees from Members and Guests, and from 50/50 donations. That revenue is used for hall rental, catering, decorations and entertainment for each of the six yearly dances, P.O. Box rental, and state franchise fees.

Membership and Guest attendance is from the public. Everyone is welcome to join and become Members for $35 per year per person and then pay $25 per person to attend each dance or attend as Guests at $35 per person to attend each dance. We offer DJ or live band music for a variety of dance styles and levels, including swing, tango, salsa, Waltz, Cha-Cha, rock n roll, foxtrot and country, or whatever music is requested of our DJ.

Dance Lesson from 6:30 – 7. 7:30-9 instructor will be available to assist guests with learning or improving their dance skills and as a dance partner upon request. 

Dinner buffet is offered from 7:00pm to 7:30pm, after which dancing begins. Intermission and a 50/50 raffle are held between 9:00pm and 9:15pm, then dancing resumes until 10:00pm.

There is ample parking onsite at the Laurel American Legion Post 19, 12168 Laurel Rd, Laurel, DE 19956. Reservations must be made not less (no later) than 7 days prior to the
